ABOUT WILMINGTON CLAYWORKS
Jennifer Reed Kenney

Over the years, I have experimented with many different art mediums and making of homemade goods. After calling it quits from a 15+ year career in telecom technology, I simultaneously pondered my next career move and started ceramics classes at the Essex Art Center. Within weeks I found that I could happily play with clay - all day, every day. It occurred to me that this may be the answer to my next move. I have found my people. I am obsessed with clay and there is no going back.

In high school I spent as much time as possible in the art center; taking every class that was available. I have always loved creating things, but never took myself too seriously. In the back of my mind, I had always thought that I would be some type of artist in my next life – and I was never a real artist anyways. Turns out there are no guarantees on that next life though, so here we are. The definition of an artist is in fact a person who creates art.
Born and raised in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and living in Wilmington, Massachusetts, I am still a Vermonter at heart and when my hands are not in clay, you may find me kayaking, skiing, fishing, camping, hiking or gardening – usually along with my husband and 2 kiddos.
